I’ve had my first attempt at light painting tonight. The following were taken using 30 second exposures and a mini maglite tourch.
For this image, I wrote the message and then painted in the chair. It took roughly 20 seconds to write the message and about 4-5 seconds of flicking the torch across the chair.
This one made use of a rear curtain sync flash. I’ve post processed the image to darken the bottom half of the image.
Instead of using the flash, this one was only painted. Roughly 10 seconds was spent on each person and it shows how still you need your subjects to be.
This was my favourite. The person in the shot was asked to stay as still as possible. Roughly 10 seconds was spent painting from each side.
